Recipe: Salmon Spread

This was delicious!!  So I just had to share it with you.. I made it last night to go with our dinner and it was a big hit..



Salmon Spread


8 oz. cream cheese, at room temp

7 oz. can salmon, drained & any cartilage removed (this measurement is more-or-less.. I can my own salmon so I did not actually use a can from the store and just guessed approximately how much I used)

2 T green pepper, finely chopped

2 T red pepper, finely chopped

1 t dried onion

1 t lemon juice

½ t liquid smoke

dash of dried dill

salt and pepper to taste


Mix softened cream cheese with all ingredients.  If the cream cheese is soft you can use a fork to mix this.  Refrigerate for a bit and serve with rye crisp (you can use crackers too.. however crackers are full of hydrogenated oils, preservatives and sugar.. ) You can find rye crisp or other crisp breads in the cracker section of the grocery store. 


If you are serving this to guests you can doll it up somewhat by sprinkling chopped nuts over the top.



  1. I do not know if you eat tuna or not but there is a recipe we love during the summer time!

    1 can of tuna drained, 1 block of cream cheese softened, 1 rib of celery finely chopped, one small onion finely chopped, one small jar of mayo (the real stuff) salt and pepper to taste. Mix together and then place in the fridge. After it has cooled, then roll into shredded cheese. Eat with crackers.

    I cheat though, I don't roll into a ball and sprinkle the cheese on top. Then I grab the bowl and the crackers and all the children and I stand around eating it!! It is soo wonderful!

  2. Thanks for sharing your spread!! I have a question. Do you know of a catalog that has washing soda in it. I hate to buy it over the internet, the cost to ship it is more that what the soda costs itself. I had no luck finding it here. (CA) You have helped me a lot!!
