We’re Back!!

I know some of you may have not even known we were gone.  But we were!  Our family took a nice little vacation last week.

We started out by going to see my in-laws in Port Townsend, WA.  We had a nice 4th of July picnic made by my mother-in-law Nadine that was so delicious!!  I still need to get her recipe for the bbq ribs.

We also made homemade ice cream.  Nadine has a cream separator for her goat milk so we got to see a little demonstration of how that works and use the cream to make our ice cream.

We visited with her goats and Granddaddy gave the kids rides on his tractor.

Then we left there and caught a ferry and went to Seattle and from there headed on to central Washington.

We stayed at Banks Lake near the Grand Coulee Dam.  We rented a boat, swam and played in the lake.  We stayed there 3 days and it was so relaxing and a lot fun.

We visited the dam and saw their big laser light show.  Every night during the summer they have this laser light show on the wall of the dam. It gives a bit of history about the dam and information about the surrounding area.

Before we left we took pics of the dam, both from the front and the back.

Since we have been home we have been busy unpacking, doing laundry and getting back into the swing of life again.

We keep talking about the trip and hope to go back again this year.

  1. Thanks for taking the time to blog your vacation pictures, Crystal. Washington is a spectacular state! Glad you could all get away for some R and R. I hope your after-vacation laundry pile isn't too deep! Blessings to you from Denise, the Prairiemom.

  2. I noticed that you were gone, cuz I checked in from time to time on your blog, which I do enjoy so much. It looks and sounds like you'll had a great vacation. Welcome back.
