ReplyDeleteWhat a great website. I found you by googling ideas for sauerkraut! I love the idea of using a gallon ziploc baggie for removing the air. This is by far the easiest method I have read about. Thanks for sharing your ideas. I made some today with cabbage, jalapeno, onion, garlic, and stinging nettles. Do you think it is ok to use a combination of whey, water and salt? I didn't have very much whey.

HI Lisa, I have no idea how much whey you added.. you can add extra salt if you don't have a lot whey (or sub lemon juice as well). It might take a few more days to ferment. Good luck with the sauerkraut!! I hope it turns out well.

It all sounds good!
ReplyDeleteWe've now tried the BBQ Beef, the Teriyaki Pork, and the Honey Dijon Chicken. We now have the Italian Sausage and Peppers in the crockpot and daughter is cooking the whole wheat pasta to go with it. Smells so good in here!
