I have been on an exercise kick lately.  Back in March I purchased a pilates dvd (this is the one I am using: http://www.ellenbarrett.com/pyl.htm  but I bought mine on ebay for less)..  I was not sure about them, but decided to give it a try..  well 2 months later all I can say is WOW!  These things are great!  I can really feel the improvement on my muscle tone in only a short time.  I totally recommend them to anyone wanting to tone up muscles. 



I also purchased a couple of Leslie Sansones walking dvd’s (again I got these on ebay).  I have the one, two and three mile walks.  I love these things.  Really besides getting a bit more fit one of the things I have really enjoyed about this is that my daughters Emily and Leanne have also joined me.  So now almost every day we enjoy our little mom/daughters exercise time.  We walk 2 or 3 miles and then do 30 minutes of pilates.  So far having some exercise buddies has really helped the boredom aspect that seems to happen with these types of things and given me added motivation!

    I, too, love the Leslie Sansone walk tapes. I have never tried the Pilates but will have to look into them.

Your recommendation for that pilates video came at the perfect time--I had purchased the same video about the same time you did, but I just haven't gotten around to using it (three babies and hubby in Iraq, so time is scarce!), so thank you for your post--I am excited and motivated to get going on it!


  3. I agree that having a buddy makes you WANT to exercise. A few years ago I lived near a cousin and we walked together and did workout videos, and last summer one of the neighbor moms and I would walk together with our strollers. I miss that. Maybe my daughters would like to exercise with me. :)

    I have had her videos for years..if only I had been walking with her all those years! :)

    It is great that your girls work out with you! Rebecca works out with me...she's my pusher...I'll say I'm done..and she motivates me to keep going.

    We are gearing up to get back into this routine....

    It will be neat thinking of you and your girls doing the same thing we are doing! :)

  5. oh heavens, i wish i had the motivation to exercise. i am just so tired -- too tired . geoff says that if started to exercise that it would give me more energy. what catch 22


  6. I have been doing the Pick Your Level Weight Loss Pilates DVD for about a month now. I, too, am amazed at how toned my legs are getting. I love this DVD. So great that your daughters are exercising with you. Blessings,
