Wednesday Snap Shot

Good morning friends! I hope your week is going well. I've been sitting and procrastinating with a cup of coffee this morning.  The sun is shining, the fire going and it's a beautiful peaceful morning.  It's now time to get moving with the day! :)

The weekend was quiet and I spent some time in the kitchen. I made a pot of veggie stock and a batch of chicken stock. Both are in the freezer now.

I also had a nice long conversation with one of my daughters which is always a blessing to me.

On Sunday the weather had been really cloudy and would pour down rain and then the next minute the sun would come out and it would be dry. It did this all day. On one of those sunny dry moments I happened to look out the window and this was my view...

These little deer come and visit often. We've actually seen up to 6 of them here at one time.  They are at the point they don't really run off easily. They'll stop if we are outside and they see us and just look at us for a bit and go back to eating the grass. They're a sweet addition to my view out the window :).

On Monday I was officially at the 2 month point past my eye surgery. It was also the first time since my surgery I was able to wear my contacts again. The stitches have all healed and I was happy about that. I prefer contacts over glasses so it made me feel like life is getting back on track.

Goals
Yesterday I gave my house a good cleaning so today I plan to work on some sewing. I have aprons and pot holders waiting to be done. I also have a couple loads of laundry to do which I'll take care of during my sewing breaks.

For the Love of Books!
This last week I finished Huckleberry Finn and enjoyed the book quite a bit. Now I'm deciding my next book to read. I have a few books on my Kindle that I need to revisit and see what piques my interest.

I also finished reading the book of Revelation. I spent 2 years reading the whole Bible in order. I'm now thinking of looking into doing some sort of Bible study. I'll look around at some Podcasts and see what I can find. If any of you have suggestions on this I'd love to hear them.

Projects
This coming weekend my youngest son is going to help me finish up the fort kits. It's taken a bit to get them all assembled so I'm glad I got a head start on them.

Fitness and Health
I'm continuing to get at least 5 out of 7 days each week with my 10,000 steps. I can feel I'm getting stronger and looking forward to being able to increase my daily steps soon.

View from my Deck
It's a gorgeous morning out. It's brisk and cool (45 at the moment), but beautiful. Looking at the forecast for the next few days it looks like our first frost could be coming soon.

Today's weather: High: 54    Low:36

That is all for this week! Hope you are having a fantastic week!

  1. Crystal, I've been enjoying your blog posts for years. Thank you for sharing!

I just finished a Bible study where our group read 'Fervent' by Priscilla Shirer. It's about fervent prayer, and our entire group loved it! It was a great follow-up to her 'Armor of God' study, which we did a year ago and really enjoyed as well.
