Wednesday Snap Shot
Good
morning! It's a crisp cool fall morning here and it feels so nice.
The sun is shining and it's going to warm up a bit today. Loving the
change of seasons this year.
Today is 3 weeks post-op from my eye surgery. I'm healing up great! Aside
from occasionally feeling my eye itch or a little muscle soreness I'm
not feeling anything else. The best part for me is that I can drive
again. I've had a loving, generous family that has had no problems
helping me out over the last couple of years when it comes to needing
to go places. And it helps I'm a homebody and love being home.
However, when you loose the freedom to do things you want, when you
want, it's tough to handle. I'm so grateful to the Lord to be on the other side of this now.
I've
had a few drives locally and yesterday for the first time, in a long
time, I was able to meet up with my daughter and grandchildren in
town. We had the best day together. We stopped for coffee, and apple
juice for the kids :) and talked and sat out in the sunshine. Then
she and I grocery shopped together. It was a lot of fun and we are
busy planning out more days together. We're going to do more walking
and hiking in the area while the weather is still so nice.
Goals
Today
I will be at home. I have household chores to catch up on and dinner
preps to do.
My
hubby has a couple pairs of work pants that have holes in the pockets
and he asked me if I could repair them. Now that I can see, sitting
at the sewing machine will be much easier. I plan to to repair those
pants today.
I
had planned to make pizza on Monday and do a BBQ tonight. As it
turned out, hubby wanted to BBQ burgers on Monday. So tonight will
be pizza. I'll work on getting the pizza crusts made in a bit.
For
the Love of Books!
I
started and finished reading The War of the Worlds by H. G. Wells.
It was a quick read and I enjoyed it. I'm not a science fiction
reader but appreciated, what I've now learned, was one of the first
science fiction type books written.
I
am now reading the classic book, The House of Seven Gables by
Nathaniel
Hawthorne. I'm just getting into it and so far I'm enjoying it.
I
finished Hebrews and James in my Bible reading and am now starting 1
Peter.
Projects
After
finishing up my first batch of wool dryer balls I ordered another
package of 10 skeins of wool yarn and am going to make another 10.
My plan is to make them for Christmas gifts. I've been using them and like them and am planning a blog post to
share this very soon.
I
also cleaned out the area that I store my sewing machine and supplies
and went through some fabric that I have. I don't have a huge stash
of fabric but was able to find some that I liked and plan on making
an apron in the next few days.
Fitness
and Health
I'm
excited to be getting back in the swing of things, walking wise. Out
of the last 7 days I've managed to get above my 10,000 step goal 4
times. Today I hope to get out for a walk again and meet my goal
once more.

That
is all for this week! Hope you are having a fantastic week!
It's a lovely day here too, weather-wise, and I'm so glad for you that you're able to get out and enjoy it! How wonderful that you've been cleared to drive again. I've been there, not being able to drive myself (for different reasons), and you're right- I'm a homebody too, but when you're not able to get out yourself, it gets very, very frustrating.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful colors of yarn. I've loved everything I've ever gotten from Knitpicks, they're a great company.
Yes, you're so right Stephanie.. it can be very frustrating for sure. And I'm loving the yarn from knitpics.. great stuff 😊
