Tuesday on the Homestead
We were all surprised this morning when we woke up to a white wintry morning. It was beautiful out! But I was so happy that Tobin was home and able to take
The day was quiet. I made a big pot of potato sausage chowder. It just seemed a good say for soup. I got 5 loads of laundry done and dinner made and that was about it. The kids worked on school and Tobin worked on tax stuff.
Tomorrow Tobin and I will be going to town to run some errands and have a little time out together. I am sure the roads will be fine. I heard the plow going up our road this evening.
The kids got the sleds out and spent a lot of the afternoon sledding down the hills on our property. Now I have wet/damp clothes hanging all around the wood stove heat vent (our wood stove/furnace is in the basements and vent up to the main floor). They had a lot of fun and got some great exercise. Now are watching some old tv shows. Their current favorite is Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
Here are a few pics of the white stuff…
Hope you all had a warm day on your homestead…

Crystal, your Potato Sausage Chowder sounds good. Can you post the recipe when you have time?
ReplyDeleteHave a nice day.
Must be nice to see some snow! I live in Georgia and the past couple of days we have had highs in 70s while last week our highs were in the 20s! No wonder we are all sick here in the south! I would be so happy to see some snow around here since it is January and all, but we may never see it again! lol Enjoy it!

ReplyDeleteI must have missed the post about the new baby, so congrats on that. The pot of chowder sounds delish and as for the snow, well lets just say way down here in Louisiana I'm wearing short sleeves, lol. Keep warm.......Kitty
ReplyDeleteCongrats! How wonderful! Crystal, you mentioned in your last post that you were reading some wonderful books. Would you list them on your blog. I have read most of your recs. and just love them. I still have a few to go, but love new ideas! If it wasn't for your site, I don't think I'd have heard of any but a few of them!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful news about the new grandbaby coming!!
ReplyDeleteI have been researching the RC for almost 2 wks. I have 6 children and chroni illnesses, this looks like it might work for us. Could you give us your review and how this works for your family?
thanks,
Lori
I like *some* country music.
ReplyDeleteI heard on K-Love the other day that 2 of the 3 Rascal Flatts are Christians, including the lead singer. I'm not that familiar with their music, but whenever I've heard a song of their's, I've always liked it. Check them out, if you haven't already.
Here's hoping for a granddaughter for you. :)
Oh Crystal, the snow is beautiful!! Do you have room for a few more people:)??? I live in Illinois and we just don't get good snow here anymore.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Amy
