Wednesday on the Homestead
Good
morning! Busy, busy is how I would describe my week! How is your
week going?
The
first and most exciting news to share is my daughter had her baby! This is her 5th baby and 3rd little girl. We
are grandparents once again. We were so happy to welcome little Luna
Faith into our family last week. She weighed 8lbs 6oz. She came so
fast that the midwife made it to my daughter's house with only 4
minutes to spare! She had a 2 hour labor. I had a few babies like
that and it's quite the experience to have it all happen so fast.
Grandpa and I headed over the next day (she was born later in the evening) to meet our newest sweet baby..
I've had other things going on in my life this last week but they all seem to take a back seat to a new baby :).
One thing that's making me happy is that the snow has melted and while it's still a bit chilly, it's so nice to think we are moving towards spring now.
I also think I'm still trying to adjust to the time change. I would be happy to not have to do this any more. How about you? Time change... Like it or dislike it?
I wanted to share a little video with you. This was taken over the weekend and we had just had another snow storm move in. Whenever my duck, Ping, sees me out and about he comes to greet me. I look forward to his little visits. He'll follow me around until I feed him and then happily go back to swimming in the pond..
Goals
Today's goals are fairly simple. I have a couple meals I'm working on to take over to my daughters house. After a baby it's nice to not have to think about dinner for a few days.
For
the Love of Books!
I made a little progress in my Agatha Christie book, but not much. My attention has been in other places.
Projects
I'm really enjoying my scrap quilt project. I had ideas and plans for a couple different blocks but only got to my scrap quilt blocks. Using small bits and larger bits of various sizes of scrap fabric you sew up a piece that's big enough to cut a block out of..
I loved the way it turned out and I made 2 of them. I have to say I thought it would be fairly simple to do this, but it was a bit challenging to sew all those pieces together.
Fitness
and Health
Now that our weather seems to be improving I'm excited to get out and walk again. I managed to get my 10,000 steps in yesterday which was the first time in a few weeks. Now to keep that going! :D

Today's
weather: High: 49 Low: 32
I'm liking the that awesome high temp! I'll take the rain that's in the forecast too. Spring is in the air in my little corner of the world.
That's
all for this week my friends,
Crystal
Congratulations, "Glam"ma! 🤗
ReplyDeleteHa, ha 😀 thank you Latosha ❤
DeletePraise God for the safe birth of Luna! So happy for you all! I've had some fast births too, they were amazing, always thankful when everything turned out good. I love your blog. I don't know how long I've been following, I think at least 12 years. Sorry I don't comment much. You are a blessing to me. God bless, Kim in NC
ReplyDeleteDo you still have a link for Amazon so if people order things through it, you get a percentage.?I couldn't find it recently.
Thank you Kim ❤️ I post Amazon links in my blog posts occasionally. I use to have a few, I need to see what happened to them. I appreciate the support. 😊
DeleteI just looked.. if you're on a phone you will see 3 horizontal lines at the top left, tap that and a side bar comes out and there are a couple links there.
DeleteGreat, found it, thanks!
DeleteBTW, loved the video. We have a duck too. She's on her own, but hangs out with one of our 12 geese.
That's so cute.. I love my little duck.. I'm sure he's lonely and that is why he comes to see me every time I'm outside. Maybe one of these days I'll look for a friend for him. 😊
Deletei think that's the most beautiful "view from my deck" that you've ever sent, at least to me. perfect day, perfect time of day - it says happy first day of spring to me, even though it isn't officially. --suz in ohio, where we're having a warmish, pretty day, but back to winter on the weekend is the forecast.
ReplyDeleteThank you suz in ohio😊 the picture 'feels' so spring like. I hope spring comes soon for you.
DeleteI really really love your scrap quilt block!! Congratulations on your new granddaughter! Katie
ReplyDeleteThanks Katie! It was the first scrap quilt block I've ever made.. a fun way to use up scraps of fabric 😊.
