December Menu

December is just about here! I spent time this last weekend working on my December menu. I have linked many of the meals listed on my site. One note to make.. I have French bread linked to my pizza crust recipe. I use this recipe to make French bread.. the 3 crust recipe will make 2 loaves of French bread.

If you need a menu calendar to write your monthly menu on you can find mine here: http://www.thefamilyhomestead.com/menuplanningcalendars.htm  I post a new menu calendar each month. They are a handy way to write out your menu and keep it on your fridge for easy reference.

  1. Love the new blog look!! :) It fits so perfectly, with the season. :D

In Denmark, right now there's a fire going, it's snowing outside (it's been doing that for the last few days), I'm listening to peaceful Christmas music, quiet house, and the kitty is sleeping right next to me. And let's not forget the cup of coffee I'm sipping on!

    Love you!! <3

  2. I always love when you share your menus. Things are extra tight this month here now with an unexpected expense. Your ideas and menu planning calendar make things a little more cheerful as I need to carefully plan our groceries/menu this month. Thank you so much, and Merry Christmas to you and your family. Lyn

  6. Monica, we eat lots of salad all year long, in fact I try to serve them just about each day.. I think fresh veggies are very healthy for us and it is the main way we get our veggies each day...

  10. Quick question, I love how you arrange your menu for an entire month, and with kids and schooling and farming, it can be hectic! My question is, I noticed there wasn't anything really including red meat, pork, or seafood. We do live in the Northwest, close to Canada on a farm, and hunt and fish. I was wondering if you ever included red meat or seafood in your menus? New to your blog and site, thanks so much ~ bright blessings!

  11. Hi Farm Goddess.. If you look at my menu you will see I have several fish meals.. tuna patties, fish tacos, tuna melts, salmon w/scalloped potatoes.. etc.. and yes we eat red meat.. lots of hamburger! All my meals such as spaghetti, lasagna, meatloaf, meatballs, etc.. all use beef.. I have a few pork meals.. Sausage potato soup, ham for Christmas dinner, etc..

We are not big "meat and potatoes" people.. it is not often you will find a piece of meat as the center of my meals.. I work to feed my family as frugally as possible so my meals are meals that stretch meat rather than have meat as the center of them..

Hope that helped to answer your questions! :)
    Crystal :)
