There is a grate in the living room where the heat comes up. and then we have a fan that blows the heat upstairs. It does a great job keeping the house warm.<br /><br />Our winters typically hover in the upper 20's to mid 30's. We get some snow and ice but not a whole lot. It can get into the teens but that does not happen each year and when it does it usually only lasts a short time then we are back to the 20's & 30's.. <br /><br />But we have very wet cool falls and springs (rains a LOT - 75 to 100 inches a year). We start heating sometime in October and can heat until June!
