Now with my own little ones we put up the tree one Dec. first but take it down around noon on Christmas day. I leave the other decorations up till Jan. But being a family of 6 in a 12 by 60 trailer house we need the room for the kids to play. Once we are in the new house we might wait till Jan. again.Marnitanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-21131494093066801992014-12-29T15:07:43.478-08:002014-12-29T15:07:43.478-08:00Love the quilts!

We use that as our "Christmas tree" in December. We decorate in early December and take down after December 25. We will take down this year decorations on December 29. This shouldn't take long since we adhere to the "less in more" mindset.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-81599133296182670752014-12-27T20:48:00.065-08:002014-12-27T20:48:00.065-08:00I do what we always did as children. The tree then stays up until Epiphany (January 5). It comes down right after that. Anyhow this question required a comment ;)! (since you asked!)

We just started a tree tradion by chance last year: not normally wanting to have a tree, last year my hubby retaliated. On Christmas eve hubby ran out for a last minute something and returned with a tree - free from the local bigbox hardware. It was such a fun surprise and the kids (all 6) were so delighted (scrooge begon!) I had to give in with a smile!

This year they came back having only spent $10 for a live tree and stand. Purse holder approved! And since we don't get started until the last possible minute the tree stays until the pine needles (falling) drive any odd neatfreaks nuts...sadly that can take awhile - I've been known to leave my Christmas cards up passed Easter...

signed: admirer of your sense of organization!
Ps - the quilts are so lovely!ThreadBearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15071921164739270609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-59708159258090135772014-12-27T13:18:40.546-08:002014-12-27T13:18:40.546-08:00I usually take the tree and decorations down the d...I usually take the tree and decorations down the day after. My instinct is to take everything down the day after Christmas, but I know my husband and the kids like it up a little bit longer. I love everything when it is first set up and the coziness it adds to our home leading up to Christmas Day, but after that I cant help but see it all as one big mess that I need to clean up- haha. I know I sound like a scrooge! To me, when it's over, it's over and I am ready to move on. But as I said, I will probably leave it all out until New Years Day for the sake of the family.... if I can wait that long! ;)Dawn- Blessed Beyond Measurehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18380049127079259624noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-29773976456081485092014-12-27T05:28:19.906-08:002014-12-27T05:28:19.906-08:00I usually take mine down right after Christmas but...I usually take mine down right after Christmas but this year I didn't put up a tree. They believe its bad luck to take it down before. But, I'm ready for it to be down like right now. To be honest, I wanted to take it down Christmas night. I love the holidays and the reason for the season, but sadly, I wasnt in the holiday spirit this year and I'm ready for a new year with a new hope. :)bobbievnoreply@blogger.com
