There are two types of wheat.. Hard wheat berries and soft wheat berries.. Hard wheat berries are typically used for making any items that have yeast.. (hence the term.. "bread flour").. soft wheat berries are called pastry flour and typically used in baking quick breads.. i.e... muffins, cakes, cookies.. etc..Crystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00621490444516696992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-7039444695017931452011-06-27T04:55:08.872-07:002011-06-27T04:55:08.872-07:00Can I use whole wheat pastry flour or regular whol...Can I use whole wheat pastry flour or regular whole wheat flour instead of bread flour?Viviannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-18140442546278134802011-06-14T19:05:29.860-07:002011-06-14T19:05:29.860-07:00Jessica, I have had a few unsuccessful tries at so...Jessica, I have had a few unsuccessful tries at sourdough starter.. so don't give up. I have read that people with yeast allergies are typically allergic to manufactured yeast, not natural yeasts. It might be something worth looking into or talking with your health care provider about. If you can eat sourdough it would be a great addition to your diet as I am certain eating yeast free is very challenging!Crystalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00621490444516696992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5055330933900013377.post-3884201121336062962011-06-09T15:38:17.188-07:002011-06-09T15:38:17.188-07:00Would you know by chance if sourdough recipes are ...Would you know by chance if sourdough recipes are an option for yeast allergies?
